The Before and After Series | Part Sixteen: From Cottage to Class

June 21, 2023

This is a blog with mixed emotions. In a full circle story, I’m excited to be listing 1st 2SE Lobos for sale after witnessing its complete transformation over the past few years. But I'm also sad to see my wonderful clients leave California.

I sold the Carmel property to my clients back in 2011. When we first walked through the doors 12 years ago, they were immediately sold. They had the vision and the results are truly remarkable. Over the years it served as a vacation retreat from the growing Bay Area and then leveraged as a rental property. Finally it became a full time residence and my clients started remodeling in May, 2020.

Starting with a new driveway and landscaping provided by Black Diamond Pavers the gardens are now established with greenery, white lavendar, white roses and white hydrangeas blooming all year. They stayed with fresh white paint throughout the house, wood touches and flooring, stone accents in keeping with Carmel charm along with new windows. The whole house remodel was in partnership with Ranch Hand Construction. New deck and trellis off the main living area is perfect for morning coffee and the office boasts a quiet reading nook for afternoons.

The kitchen is the star of the home which was completely gutted and resdesigned for an open concept, white kitchen with top of the line stainless steel appliances from Fergusson'sCarmel Stone Imports supplied the Spanish tile backsplash unique with the colors of Carmel that has to be seen to be appreciated. Sets of French doors, plantation shutters and shiplap throughout delivers the cottage charm for open space living, warmth and modern construction.

NAR Settlement

What's Changing About Real-Estate Commissions?

Dear Clients & Friends,

I want to address the National Association of REALTOR®s' recent settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit that has been in the news so much this year. To comply with this settlement, the MLS removed all offers of buyer’s agent compensation as of Tuesday, August 13th.

Commissions always ...

The Before and After Series | Part Seventeen: Valley Estate Perfected

Image of Press Release 757a
It was the quintessential COVID sale.

I had been referred to potential buyers who were relocating to Carmel from Colorado. They were the type of buyers that could be successful in the crazy days of COVID. Decisive, ready and able. It was March, 2021 and a gorgeous four bedroom home on one of my favorite streets in Carmel Valley had just hit the market. I called my clients and the husband literally hoped on a flight the very next morning. He boarded a plane with only a cup of coffee in ...
